Gardening Leave

Updated: Apr 27, 2020

My apologies as it has been over a week since my last post! Our world has been changing at such a fast pace this last week it was difficult to keep up, every post I wrote became outdated so quickly.

In the past few days ensuring the safety and health of our visitors and our team of staff was of paramount importance.

As we have so much that is new at Athelhampton to share with our friends and visitors this year we are disappointed that we have to close for a while and wait, but we do hope that you will come and see us later in the year. I expect that many of us will spend some of the time isolating ourselves and tending our gardens, with that in mind I thought I would share a picture of William North, head gardener at Athelhampton for Mr Alfred Cart de Lafontaine in 1899. Keep well and stay safe,
