While Athelhampton is a historic house, we also have a mission to support modern day local artists and craftspeople, even in small ways. Various local artisans stock Athelhampton's shop, supplying beautiful pieces that you can't find anywhere else. One such artist is Silvia Pineda. The Mexican born daughter of a jeweller and a sculptor, artistry runs in her blood. She exhibited her paintings in our art gallery, and her jewellery and ceramics are now a staple in Athelhampton's

Artist Gordon Rushmer at Athelhampton
As you explore Athelhampton House, taking in its Tudor history, you will discover the East Wing Gallery, where we are delighted to host an exhibition by West Sussex artist Gordon Rushmer, on view until March. The exhibition in the newly renovated art gallery Gordon’s paintings capture Athelhampton and the surrounding countryside with warmth and detail, alongside striking works from his time as a war artist with British and Dutch marines. A New Dorset Art Gallery at Athelhampton House
It's been a busy weekend at Athelhampton, as a new room opened to the public. The East Wing attic has been renovated over the last 6 months, and is now open as an art gallery. As well as art on display, the room has some fabulous views over the gardens that haven't been seen by our visitors in years! The gallery was opened by Simon Hoare MP, with Arthur Neal as our first artist exhibiting over 75 works. The team at Athelhampton faced many challenges completing this project on
