If you have been thinking about making the switch to electric, there is now an even better reason to visit Athelhampton.
As an established self-drive location for Tesla for over a year, we are pleased to see our cars swapped for the latest models, bringing visitors an even more up to date driving experience.
Now available from the estate are two sleek black vehicles, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range and the latest Tesla Model Y, ready to be enjoyed on the open roads of Dorset.
Self test drives are available daily between 10am and 4pm, with the last drive departing at 4pm.
A different kind of test drive
This is not a rushed dealership appointment. From Athelhampton, you can take a Tesla out onto quiet country roads, experience the smooth acceleration and near silent drive, and get a genuine feel for what it is like to live with an electric vehicle.
With petrol and diesel costs continuing to rise, many people are considering the move to electric. A self-guided test drive offers a simple, pressure free way to explore whether it could work for you.

Make a day of it
A visit to Athelhampton is about more than just the drive.
After your time behind the wheel, why not slow the pace and enjoy everything the estate has to offer. The historic Tudor house, with over twenty rooms to explore, is open daily, and the five acres of Grade I listed gardens are full of colour as the seasons unfold.
The Coach House restaurant is open throughout the day, serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. It is the perfect place to reflect on your drive, whether you are weighing up the practicality of electric motoring or simply enjoying a relaxed moment in a beautiful setting.
The restaurant can be enjoyed without admission to the house and gardens, making it easy to combine your Tesla experience with a leisurely lunch.
Why try electric now
For many, this will be a first experience of electric driving. The instant response, quiet refinement, and ease of use often come as a surprise.
As fuel prices remain a consideration for many households, and with increasing interest in more sustainable travel, there has never been a better time to explore the possibilities of electric vehicles.
Athelhampton offers a rare opportunity to do just that, combining modern technology with a historic setting, and turning a simple test drive into a genuinely enjoyable day out.
