Athelhampton enjoyed a snow day today!


Snow falling on the Great Court in Athelhampton's historic gardens. The huge yew pyramids surround the pond and fountain at the centre of the court, and in the background one of the Victorian Ham Hill stone pavilions is visible.

Even with difficult traveling conditions we welcomed visitors who explored the historic house and gardens near Dorchester, and enjoyed a hot lunch in our restaurant.

I wonder how many snow days there have been at Athelhampton has since it was constructed in 1485?
