Tudor Living History Week During October Half-Term Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026
This October half-term, step back into 1580 as Athelhampton’s Tudor past is brought vividly to life throughout the house and gardens. Meet characters from all levels of Tudor society, from gentlefolk to servants, and discover what daily life at Athelhampton would have been like in the 16th century.
Visitors can experience Tudor food, clothing, dancing and traditional crafts, try writing with a quill and watch demonstrations including archery and Tudor football. You may even be invited to help serve the Martyn family’s dinner in the Great Hall.
This fully interactive experience gives families the opportunity to become part of Athelhampton’s Tudor community rather than simply observe it. If you are searching for things to do in Dorset during the October half-term, Tudor Living History Week offers a memorable day out for children and adults alike.
