With visitor numbers picking up as we move from Winter into Spring, we're becoming increasingly busy. With cruises, tours, and independent travellers, the many international visitors at Athelhampton make up a significant proportion of our guests, exploring the house and gardens. While many are able to speak English in addition to their native tongue, there are certain nuances of language that make it worth everyone's while to have our visitor interpretation translated.

Our short films, one about Thomas Hardy and his connections to Athelhampton, and the other about the many ghosts that haunt the hall have both received professional translations, followed by our garden maps.

We can now proudly say that we offer the garden maps not just in English, but also in Dutch, German, French, and Spanish! These will be followed very shortly by our House Tour books, offered in the same set of languages, to help our international visitors at Athelhampton explore the house in more detail.
