Is there an Easter Trail in the Gardens at Athelhampton? No!

Updated: 5 days ago

With the Easter Holidays in full swing, and Easter less than a week away, many historic houses and other visitor attractions in Dorset and around the country have an Easter Trail, often featuring rabbits, eggs, dinosaurs and other chocolatey goodness.

Two gardeners in green shirts, sunhats, and waders, work in one of the ponds at Athelhampton, surrounded by flowers and greenery.

It's a crowded market and, truth be told, there would be plenty of space for Athelhampton's Easter Trail in over 1000 feet of our herbaceous borders. However, our Easter Trail is non-existent. While we could try to keep up with the rest of the market, we prefer (though some might argue unwise) to step away from the crowd, and instead try for something different.

As the first flushes of Spring wash over our gardens, with the magnolias flowering and the greenery returning, we let the plants speak for themselves. An oasis of calm, our visitors can meander through the stunning historic gardens at will. Their tranquillity and serenity are uninterrupted, just as Alfred Carte de Lafontaine and Francis Inigo Thomas intended it to be.

We're open every day, except for a few days at Christmas, and welcome visitors of all ages. You can purchase tickets online here Buy Admission Tickets
