About The Event

Join the Gardening Team on a 4.5 mile countryside walk from Athelhampton House & Gardens followed by a delicious homemade lunch in the restaurant. 

The walk begins through our formal gardens, before venturing past the Church of St Edward and onto a footpath leading into Cowpound Wood. The walk will take in some of the local sites, passing farms, across fields and include a short trip alongside the River Piddle with plenty of Snowdrops to see.

The walk will be lead by one of the Gardeners, who is a fully qualified Walk Leader and first aid trained, with 5 years experience leading walks across East Dorset.

What to expect-

10am - Arrive at Athelhampton (Car park is free)

10-10.15am - Check In & Pre Order lunches (Toilets available)

10.15-10.30am Meet & greet 

10.30am - Walk begins

12.15-12.30pm - Walk concludes 

12.30pm - Opportunity to change muddy shoes & clothing 

12.45pm - Lunch is Served

13.30pm - For those who have purchased +++ tickets will have full acces to the House & Gardens untill 4pm

Come prepared for the weather on the day, particularly wearing suitable footwear. Some areas can be muddy at this time of year and there will be a mix of terrain and unevern surfaces.

Please let us know if there are is medical conditions we should be aware off or are relevant to your ability to walk 4.5 miles at a gentle and moderate pace.
